Bhubaneswar, Mar 11 (Reporter) In a major boost to Railways’ infrastructure and connectivity, Prime Minister Narendrsa Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for 274 railway projects in Odisha on Tuesday.
Addressing newsmen here on Monday, East Coast Railway (ECoR) Additional General Manager Mohesh Kumar Behera said these projects include 162 electronic interlocking systems, 41 One Station, One Product (OSOP) stalls, 50 solar power stations, 5 goods sheds, 9 new line, doubling, and 3rd line projects, 4 auto signalling systems, one Gati Sakthi terminal, one Jan Ausadhi Kendra, and one rail coach restaurant.
On Tuesday, Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various railway projects worth over 85,000 crores in the country. The Prime Minister will hold these functions at 764 locations across India, Behera said.
The Prime Minister will flag off the 3rd Vande Bharat Express for the people of Odisha. The 3rd Vande Bharat Express will run between Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar on six days a week, except Saturdays.
The Prime Minister will dedicate nine new line, doubling, and third line projects.
These projects are Rs 234 crore. Haridaspur-Byree (16.8 km) of Bhadrak-Nergundi 3rd Line section: Rs. 131 crore; Damanjodi-Baiguda (14.6 km.) of Koraput-Rayagada doubling section: Rs. 167 crore. Singapur Road-Rayagada (9.2 km.) of Vizianagaram-Titlagarh 3rd Line, Rs. 123 crore Semiliguda-Araku-Gorakhpur (21.6 km.) of Kothavalasa-Koraput doubling section, Rs. 47 crore Kota-Boddavara (7.3 km) section of Kothavalasa-Koraput doubling and Rs. 550 crore Jharsuguda-Jamaga (53 km) of Bilaspur-Jharsuguda 4th line section, Rs. 61.73 crore Link B-Link C Bondamunda of the Bondamunda-Ranchi doubling section, Rs. 129.95 crore Nawagaon-Orga (6.8 km) of the Ranchi-Bondamunda doubling section, and Rs. 36.12 crore Ranital-Ranital (L) 4th Line (3 km) of the Narayangarh-Bhadrak 4th Line section.
The “One Station, One Product” (OSOP) scheme, Behera said, aims to promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ vision of the Government of India. It will provide a market for local and indigenous products and create additional income opportunities for the marginalised sections of society.
This scheme aims to provide enhanced opportunities for livelihood to local artisans, weavers, and craftsmen through the provision of sale outlets at railway stations across the country.
Automatic signalling will increase line capacity to run more trains on existing high-density routes of Indian Railways. Automatic block signalling is a cost-effective solution.
Rail coach restaurants will provide a unique dining ambience for passengers. The Rail Coach restaurant aims to cater to the needs of passengers and the public.
This initiative of the Indian Railway is also expected to create employment for both skilled and unskilled workers, the AGM said...////...
