PM Modi to dedicate NTPC Darlipali power station to nation on Feb 3

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power station (2x800 MW), NSPCL Rourkela PP II expansion project (1x250MW) and lay the foundation stone of NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project stage III ( 2x660 MW) with a total investment of Rs.28,978 crore on February 3. Addressing newsmen here, NTPC Regional Executive Director( Eastern region I and II) Sudip Nag said Darlipali STPP is a pit head super station with super critical technology which will supply low cost power to beneficiary states such as Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujrat and Sikkim. He said the 250 MW power project of NTPC- SAIL Power Company Limited established in Rourkela Steel Plant will provide reliable power of the steel plant which is vital for its economic growth. Nag said the NTPC is developing the Talcher Thermal Power project stage III which is within the old TTPS plant in Talcher which was taken over by the NTOC from the Odisha State Electricity Board in 1995 government. The old TTPS plant was decommissioned after completing more than 50 years of service to the nation. He said the upcoming plant will have highly efficient ultra super critical technology based units and approximately three times the capacity of the old TTPS Plant. Nag said fifty percent capacity of this power project wil be dedicated to Odisha state, other beneficiary states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Assam will get low cost power from this pit head station. This project, the Regional ED said has been constructed with all environmental features like efficient electrostatic precipatators, Flu glass de sulphurisation, bio mass cofiring, covered store passage for coal which will help in lesser specific coal consumption and CO 2 emissions...////...
