PM to flag off 3 Vande Bharat Express trains, SRly gets two trains tomorrow

Chennai, Aug 30 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat express trains, including two in Southern Railway, via video conferencing from New Delhi on Saturday. A Southern Railway release here today said the inaugural services of Vande Bharat Express Trains between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Nagercoil and Madurai and Bengaluru Cantonment will be launched tomorrow. Mr Modi will also flag off the inaugural Meerut –Lucknow Vande Bharat Express. In Southern Railway, ceremonial functions will be held at Dr MGR Chennai Central and Madurai Junction. At the Dr MGR Chennai Central station, Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi, Union Minister Dr L.Murugan, Members of Parliament, Elected representatives and other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion. Only the inaugural Special will be flagged off from Dr MGR Chennai Central as the regular Service of the train will be from Chennai Egmore. The Train No. 02627 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Nagercoil Inaugural Special will leave here at 12.30 hrs tomorrow and reach Nagercoil at 21.30 hrs, the same day. The train composition comprised of Vande Bharat rake of 16 coaches. At Madurai, V. Somanna, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Members of Parliament, elected representatives and other dignitaries will participate in the flagging off event of the Madurai–Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat Inaugural Special train. The Train No.02671 Madurai–Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat inaugural Special will leave Madurai at 12.30 hrs and reach Benglauru Cantonment at 21.30 hrs, the same day The train composition comprised Vande Bharat rake of 8 Coaches. Reception functions will be held at enroute railway stations as well at the destination stations, where a warm reception will be accorded to the prestigious service by elected representatives, rail passengers, railway officials, students, and general public. The indigenously manufactured Vande Bharat Express is redefining rail travel experience in the country. In order to provide an opportunity to students, rail enthusiasts and general public to get a glimpse of the prestigious train service, the inaugural special Vande Bharat Express trains will have stoppages enroute. Souvenir passes for travel in the inaugural special Vande Bharat Express have been issued to identified dignitaries and cross sections of society including school children and media. General public are welcome to join the festivities at the enroute stations during the inaugural run. Regular Services of these trains will start on September 2, 2024...////...
