Kolkata, Oct 12 (Reporter)Police have arrested a youth who entered a ladies' hostel of the Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal prompting the lady doctors to leave the hostel until proper security was provided to them. The youth was arrested after a lady screamed from inside a washroom of the hostel on the 2nd floor of the hostel on Friday evening and her colleagues rushed to help her. The youth was rounded up and handed over to the local police. The residents of the hostel said this was the second incident of intrusion by a stranger in the hostel in two months. Last month a man was seen atop the guarding wall and fled after the hostel inmates shouted for help, said Karima Khatoon. " We can not serve the people under this insecurity and we will leave the hostel unless the authorities provide a safe and secure environment for us," she told reporters on Saturday. The inmates of the hostel had gheraoed the Principal of Bankura Sammilani Hospital Panchanon Kundu, who said there was provision for appointment of the security staff for the women's hostel." We manage some funds and maintain scanty security measures and those are not sufficient" Dr Kundu said.
