Patna, Jan 16 (Reporter) "Jan Suraaj" founder Prashant Kishor who was on fast unto death dharna since January 2, in support of BPSC aspirants demanding re-examination, ended his fasting on Thursday.
Kishor ended his fasting after taking juice offered by BPSC aspirants even as the state government has still not responded to their demand for re-conducting the preliminary test earlier held on December 13. BPSC aspirants are demanding the cancellation of the preliminary test and re-conducting it as the test was marred by a series of irregularities including a paper leak.
Jan Suraaj founder who had begun fast unto death dharna at Gandhi Maidan on January 2, in support of demands of BPSC aspirants, was arrested on January 6 but the court released him on bail. Officials of the district administration had described the dharna as illegal, as Gandhi Maidan was not a designated place to do such activities.
Delegates of Jan Suraaj and BPSC aspirants had called on Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to request for his intervention to ensure re-examination. Governor had asked delegates to request Kishor to break his fasting and also assured them to do the needful in this connection.
Kishor also announced that he was beginning Satyagraha on the bank of the Ganga river in LCT ghat in Patna which would continue for nearly two months. Five thousand youths would be given training per day from January 20 to inculcate values of Satyagraha among them and it was expected that nearly one lakh youths would get training during the next two months before the Holi festival.
Jan Suraaj founder lamented over the fact that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not respond positively to the demands of BPSC aspirants. It appeared that Kumar was not in a position to decide on his own and some others were calling shots in his name, he remarked...////...
