Prepare plan to provide benefits of central, state schemes to unorganised workers: CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, Jan 9 (Reporter) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday directed that a plan be presented together so that the unorganised workers can get benefits from the schemes of the central and state governments as per the occupation-wise classification recorded on the central government's e-labour portal. Chief Minister Fadnavis reviewed the labour department on Thursday and gave suggestions regarding the work to be done in the next 100 days. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Labour Minister Akash Fundkar, Soil and Water Conservation Minister Sanjay Rathod, State Minister Ashish Jaiswal, Indranil Naik, and Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, among other top brass officials, were present. Principal Secretary of the Labour Department I.A. Kundan presented the department and informed about the works to be done in the next 100 days. At present there are about one and a half crore registered workers in the state. Along with these workers, various schemes for unorganised workers in other sectors should be brought on a single platform. Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the existing ESI hospitals should be strengthened to provide better services to the workers. Also, training programs should be organised through ITIs to train workers for skilled manpower. Care should be taken to ensure that schemes for unorganised sector workers continue in the future, he said. Those points were discussed during the meeting, including creating a cess portal for the collection of cess from various enforcement agencies and implementing a revised scheme for construction workers. New draft regulations will be prepared for reactor use, Maharashtra will amend the Private Security Guards Act, the Industrial Tribunal will prepare the proposed rules, the implementation of the new Labour Code of the Central Government will occur, and the establishment of a training centre with the help of ITI for skilled manpower will take place...////...
