Kalaburagi, June 14 (Reporter) Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi Congress district in-charge Priyank Kharge conveyed deep condolences over the tragic demise of Vijaykumar in a devastating fire in Kuwait.
The 42-year-old victim was from Sarasamba village in Aland taluk of the district.
In a statement here on Friday, Kharge expressed heartfelt sympathy to the grieving family, assuring them of efforts to bring Vijaykumar's mortal remains back to his hometown.
"At this moment of profound loss, our thoughts and prayers are with Vijaykumar's departed soul, wishing for his eternal peace," he said, highlighting the steadfast support of the state government for the bereaved family.
He reaffirmed his active collaboration with relevant authorities and the Kalaburagi district Deputy Commissioner to streamline the repatriation process effectively even as an IAF flight carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indians killed in the Kuwait blaze landed in Kerala on Friday.
In a coordinated initiative, a taluk health officer and a Circle Police Inspector (CPI) were promptly dispatched from Kalaburagi to Kochi, facilitating the smooth transfer of Vijaykumar's body.
The journey will witness the body airlifted from Kochi to Hyderabad and then taken by ambulance to Sarasamba village, ensuring Vijaykumar receives the dignified farewell he rightfully deserved.
The devastating fire on Wednesday engulfed a six-storeyed building complex in Mangaf in Kuwait City housing 176 Indians of whom 45 perished among over 50 casualties so far. It was caused due to an electrical short circuit, the Kuwaiti authorities announced on Thursday.
The Indian Embassy in a press statement has said that 23 of those who died were from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, three each from Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, two from Odisha, and one each from Bihar, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana.
The mortal remains would be handed over to the concerned state government representatives in Kochi and Delhi...////...
