Provide PET scan facility at Govt Cancer Hospital: MLC Chavan

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jan 31 (Reporter) MLC Satish Chavan on Wednesday made a request to Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif to provide an up-to-date PET (positron emission tomography) scan facility at government-run cancer hospital here for benefit of citizens. Chavan stated in a press release that today, he met Mushrif in Mantralaya and submitted him a memorandum of his demand. Since government-run cancer hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city does not have PET scan facility, patients have to undergo examination outside, he said. Therefore, Chavan has requested Mushrif to provide an up-to-date PET scan facility at government cancer hospital for benefit of patients. If the said facility becomes available in the cancer hospital, then patients can undergo stomach scan at a nominal cost, he mentioned. Chavan has demanded that the facility of stomach scan should be made available here on the lines of Sassoon hospital in Pune. Mushrif has responded positively to the demand of Chavan and has given instructions to relevant authorities to take appropriate action immediately in this regard...////...
