PSJ courts dismisses Ex-TN Minister Senthilbalaji's discharge plea, orders framing charges on July 22

Chennai, July 18 (Reporter) The Principal Sessions Court in Chennai on Thursday evening dismissed the discharge plea of former Tamil Nadu Minister V.Senthilbalaji in the money laundering case filed against him by the ED and directed that he should be produced before the court for framing of charges on July 22. Passing orders on two petitions filed by him, Principal Sessions Judge S.Alli dismissed them and said he should be produced before the Court on July 22 for framing of charges. During the hearing, the ED vehemently objected that the ex-Minister's plea arguing that he has been filing only to delay and prolong the case and that the pleas should be dismissed. While one petition pertained to discharge him from the PMLA case, the other one was filed claiming that there were handwritten changes in the original documents and those provided by the ED in the case. He said these documents should be sent to the forensic department to ascertain the truth. However, the ED submitted that the documents were received from the bank and that the petition filed by him should be dismissed. After hearing arguments from both the sides, both the pleas were dismissed by the court with a direction that arrested ex-Minister should be produced before the court on July 22 for framing of charges.
