Pune with 82 lakh voters highest in Maha

Mumbai, Apr 13 (Reporter) In terms of total number of voters in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra, Pune district has the highest number of voters as compared to other districts in the state, said the State Information office on Saturday. The total number of voters in Pune is 82,82,363. It is closely followed by Mumbai Suburbs with 73,56,596 voters, Thane-65,79,588, Nashik-48,08,499, Nagpur-42,72,366. While, in four districts of Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Gondia and Sindhudurg, the number of female voters is higher than male voters. The total number of voters in Ratnagiri is 13,03,939, of which the number of male voters is 6,31,12 and female voters is 6,72,916. It is followed by Nandurbar with total number of 12,76,941 voters, of whom the number of male voters is 6,37,609 and female voters is 6,39,320. The total number of voters of Gondia is 10,92,546, of which the number of male voters is 5,41,272 and female voters is 5,51,264. There are total 6,62,745 voters in Sindhudurg, of whom male voters are 3,30,719 and females 3,32,025. Five districts namely Ahmednagar, Solapur, Jalgaon, Kolhapur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar have more than 30 lakh voters. Total number of voters in Ahmednagar is 36,47,252, followed by Solapur-36,47,141, Jalgaon-35,22,289, Kolhapur-31,72,797 and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-30,48,445. There are more than 20 lakh voters in 10 districts namely Buldhana, Amravati, Yavatmal, Nanded, Raigad, Mumbai city, Beed, Satara, Sangli and Palghar, said information office.
