Hoshiarpur, Apr 16 (Reporter) A boy and girl, both siblings, and their neighbour were killed on the spot when a speeding sand-laden tipper truck ran over them at Hajipur, in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, late last night, police said today. Two others were injured in the accident. According to investigating officer ASI Subhash Chander, the incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Tuesday when Pari (seven) and Sameer (five), daughter and son of Ravi Kumar, along with their neighbour Akash (30), all residents of Bargarh Colony in Hajipur, were returning home from the market on an Activa scooter. They were standing beside the main road along with two others, Gora and Jamini, also residents of the same colony, when a speeding sand-laden tipper, coming from the Talwara side, ran over them. Pari, Sameer, and Akash died on the spot, the officer said. Gora and Jamini were injured, and were admitted to the Civil Hospital in Mukerian for treatment. A case has been registered at Hajipur police station, and the driver of the tipper truck, identified as Surinder Singh of Dasuya, has been arrested, ASI Chander said.
