Bengaluru, May 12 (Reporter) A Facebook post by Raghupati Bhat has ignited a wave of discontentment regarding the allocation of Legislative Council tickets. Bhat, former BJP MLA, expressed his dismay over the recent decisions made by the party leadership. In his post, Bhat criticised the allocation of the Teacher's constituency ticket to a candidate from the JDS party's Chikmagalur, while the graduate constituency ticket was awarded to a BJP candidate from Shvamogga. He argued that this move amounted to injustice against the educated and sensible voters from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikmagalur, and Kodagu regions, who have traditionally supported the BJP. Drawing attention to his longstanding commitment to the party, Bhat recounted his extensive tenure dating back to 1994, during which he held various positions and emerged victorious in three assembly contests. However, he expressed disappointment over being replaced without prior notification in the last assembly elections. Undeterred by this setback, Bhat remained dedicated to the party's cause and actively participated in grassroots activities. He highlighted his efforts in mobilising support for the BJP, including his role in the membership campaign for the graduate constituency and his extensive campaign work in Shivamogga during the Lok Sabha elections.
