Ranchi, Aug 30 (Reporter) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and Ghatshila legislator Ramdas Soren on Friday took oath as a minister in the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand.
Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ramdas Soren.
Ramdas Soren has been made a minister in the Jharkhand government in place of Champai Soren, who quit the party after a brief tenure as the state's Chief Minister.
Jharkhand ministers as well as leaders of JMM allies Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal attended the function held at Raj Bhawan.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary L Khiangte read out the letter appointing Ramdas Soren as minister. After this, the Governor administered the oath of office to Ramdas Soren as a Cabinet minister.
Former Chief Minister and Minister of Water Resources Department and Technical Education Department Champai Soren resigned from the post of minister on August 29 and his resignation was accepted by the Governor.
The Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department issued a notification saying that Champai Soren ceased to be a state minister and a member of the council of ministers with effect from August 29...////...
