Patna, Feb 18 (Reporter) Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal (RLJD) earlier launched by Upendra Kushwaha has now been registered as Rastriya Lok Morcha (RLM) by the Election Commission, the leader said on Sunday. Kushwaha told media persons here that the Election Commission had asked for at least three more names for registration of his party as RLJD sounded similar to names of several other political parties already registered. On being asked by Election Commission, he had suggested three names and finally Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) was registered as name of his party after several communications and due process, he informed. "It is pleasant for leaders and workers of our party that Election Commission has registered the party with a new name before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections", Kushwaha said adding that a symbol would also be allotted to his party shortly after completing the required process. To a query of media persons, he clarified that symbol of any party was not given by the Commission simultaneously with its registration. President of his newly registered party RLM said he was part of NDA. As per seat sharing arrangements among constituents of NDA, his party would contest Lok Sabha elections in upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, he said replying to a query about the number of seats to be contested by his party. Kushwaha said his party was making solid preparations in all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. It was natural to make preparations in all seats as only then his party would be in a position to support its allies apart from seats it contests, he pointed out. RLM president made light of the statement of RJD chief Lalu Prasad that the door was always open for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying he was talking such things in desperation after his party lost power in Bihar. It was certain that Lalu was upset after Kumar walked away from Grand Alliance to join hands with BJP to form the NDA government on January 28, he remarked. As it is, RLJD was floated by Upendra Kushwaha after he resigned from JD(U) in February last year.
