Bengaluru, Sep 25 (Reporter) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday responded to a Special Court's order for an investigation by the Mysuru Lokayukta into the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case involving his family, expressing his willingness to cooperate and maintain his legal position.
"It has come to my attention through the media that the Special Court for Elected Representatives has ordered an investigation by the Mysuru Lokayukta. I will provide a detailed response after reviewing the full copy of the order," he posted on X.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his resolve to confront the legal scrutiny head-on, repeating his earlier stance that he was not afraid of investigation. "As I said yesterday, I repeat today: there is no question of fearing an investigation; I am determined to face everything," he wrote.
Siddaramaiah further mentioned that he will consult legal experts before deciding on the next steps. He concluded by saying, "After discussing with legal experts, I will decide the next course of action."
Echoing this sentiment, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara stressed that the Congress government is ready to cooperate fully while accusing the BJP of playing political games.
"I have not seen the order yet ... The Chief Minister is ready to face any investigation. Lokayukta police is an independent body. They are not under the mercy of anybody, so they will do the investigation accordingly," he told reporters.
Dr Parameshwara further criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments about Siddaramaiah, accusing the BJP of exploiting the situation for political mileage. "This shows very clearly that it is a political game they are playing. We have been saying right from the beginning that the BJP is using the entire episode for political gain, and now the Prime Minister has proved that," he stated.
Addressing a rally at Sonipat in Haryana, PM Modi earlier highlighted the MUDA scam, stating that the Karnataka High Court has called for a thorough investigation into the matter...////...
