Visakhapatnam, Aug 22 (Reporter) Rear Admiral Susheel Menon took over as the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF) from Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar at a ceremonial function held here on Thursday.
Rear Admiral Menon, a Gunnery and Missile specialist, has had a distinguished career spanning 32 years, a defence release said here.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and was commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1992.
During his illustrious career, Rear Admiral Menon has held many prestigious command and staff appointments.
Prior to assuming command of the Eastern Fleet, he served as the Flag Officer in Sea Training.
As the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Menon will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Fleet, which is a critical component of the Indian Navy's combat capabilities.
The change of command ceremony was attended by senior officers and personnel of the Eastern Fleet.
