Agartala, May 23 (Reporter) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat arrived here on Thursday for a five-day visit to take part in a regional training camp at Seva Dham, the RSS headquarters of Tripura.
As many as 152 Swayamsevaks from seven Northeastern states have joined the 20-day camp which began on May 18. At least 30 trainers along with 40 senior functionaries of RSS from different parts of the country were attending the camp.
“During his stay, Bhagwat would address different sessions in the training camp and he doesn’t have any other program except for the training sessions. He will leave the state on May 27,” RSS sources stated, adding that the camp aimed to train the activists named ‘Kariyakarta Vikash Barg’ as part of its "mission of promoting patriotism and Indianization".
The RSS has different levels of training programs to promote and propagate nationalism among youngsters and professionals starting with three days of Parichayak Barg (introduction training), 15 days of Sangha Shikha Barg (Sangha learning sessions), 20 days of Kariyakarta Vikash Barg (volunteer development sessions), and 25 days of Kariyakarta Vikash class-2 (senior level volunteers training) and this is the third level of training camp, it stated.
BJP sources claimed that RSS supremo’s visit has no link with the party activities and Bhagwat has no scheduled meeting with any of the party functionaries here.
BJP party president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, a few ministers, and BJP leaders would meet him to discuss the prevailing political situation of Tripura though.
Bhagwat's visit to the northeastern state ahead of the counting of Lok Sabha votes on June 4 is significant as the RSS has been expanding its bases in the northeastern states. Security has been beefed up in the Khayerpur Seva Dham areas because of his visit...////...
