Rupee up 9 paise against USD

Mumbai, June 18 (Reporter) The rupee on Tuesday rallied nine paise to 83.47 against the USD in opening trade because of the selling of USD by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said. The local unit was seen as strong owing to a weak dollar against other world currencies amid a robust equity market in opening trade.
