Patna, Nov 22 (Reporter) Salaries of 189 Circle Officers (COs) in Bihar have been put on hold due to a number of irregularities and defiance of the order issued to them by the government.
Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Jaiswal told media persons here on Friday that he had directed not to pay salaries to 189 COs in Bihar. For the first time, salaries of so many officials had been put on hold in the state, he added.
"I had directed all COs to dispose off pending cases of land disputes within three months but some of them did not comply with my directive", Jaiswal said, adding he had also directed all COs to submit their service books to headquarter of the department but 189 of them did not comply with his directive.
Their salaries had been put on hold till they submitted service books to headquarter, he said.
Action taken against COs for not discharging their duties properly, would be mentioned in their service books, Jaiswal stated.
The Minister said that he was committed to ensure quality service to the people regarding their land related grievances.
Those found guilty of dereliction of their duties would not be spared, he warned...////...
