Hyderabad, Jan 13 (Reporter) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu announced that this year’s Sankranti would be remembered as a historic festival in the state’s history since its formation. Speaking at a review meeting in Khammam on Monday, the Deputy CM discussed the implementation of four major welfare schemes-- Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, Indiramma Illu, and the issuance of new ration cards. The meeting, held under the supervision of officers and public representatives of the joint Khammam districts, highlighted the government’s efforts to bring unprecedented welfare benefits to the people. The Deputy CM stated that Telangana is setting a benchmark with welfare programs that are unparalleled elsewhere in the country. Citing ongoing schemes like free bus transport for women, Rs 500 subsidized gas cylinders, an increased Rajiv Aarogyasri health coverage limit to Rs 10 lakhs, the construction of Young India International Schools, a 40 percent dietary enhancement for hostel students, a 200 percent increase in cosmetic allowances, and a Rs 500 paddy bonus, he emphasized the government’s dedication to the well-being of its citizens. He announced that the four new schemes set to launch this Sankranti would cost the state exchequer approximately Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 crore. Of this, Rs 22,500 crore has been allocated for the construction of Indiramma houses, Rs 2,000 crore for Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, and Rs 19,000 crore for Rythu Bharosa. The Deputy CM assured transparency in implementation, with the selection of beneficiaries to be finalized through Gram Sabhas. These village-level meetings will involve public discussions and displays of beneficiary details to ensure accountability. Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, Rs 12,000 per acre per year will be deposited directly into the accounts of farmers, with no upper limit on arable land. This scheme will also benefit farmers holding ROFR pattas, and the Agriculture Department will use revenue records for implementation. The Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme will provide support to agricultural laborers with no land, provided their families hold job cards under the employment guarantee scheme and have worked for at least 20 days. Deputy CM Mallu emphasised that only eligible individuals would be selected for ration cards and Indiramma houses. He highlighted the government’s earlier achievement of depositing Rs 22,000 crore under the farmer loan waiver scheme within two months—a historic move that received limited publicity. To ensure awareness, he instructed officials to organize Gram Sabhas where permits for the new schemes will be handed to eligible beneficiaries. Indiramma Committees will oversee the implementation and adherence to government orders, extensively touring villages to monitor progress. The Deputy CM suggested dividing each Mandal into three parts to efficiently conduct Gram Sabhas, complete with proper arrangements such as stages, microphones, and participation from officials and Indiramma Committee members. He also directed district in-charge ministers to approve the final list of beneficiaries. Additionally, flex boards displaying the names of beneficiaries and the amounts received under schemes like Rythu Loan Waiver, Rythu Bharosa, and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa will be prominently placed in village centres. The Deputy CM urged district collectors to address any implementation doubts by consulting the respective in-charge Ministers, ensuring the successful rollout of these welfare initiatives, according to an official statement...////...
