Jammu, Dec 5 (Reporter) The Jammu and Kashmir team is sweating hard in the coaching camp underway here at football turf Mini Stadium, Parade Ground for its participation in the prestigious awaited final round of the 78th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy 2024–2025 to be played at Hyderabad, Telangana.
Energetic Jammu and Kashmir will lock horns with experienced and highest 32 times title winner West Bengal.
“Following their advancement to the final round of the Santosh Trophy, the Jammu and Kashmir Football Team is currently undergoing a rigorous coaching camp here under the guidance of internationally acclaimed footballer Mehraj-Ud-Din Wadoo and J&K Sports Council Chief Coach Satpal Singh,” said an official of J&K Sports Council.
Sharing details he stated that the J&K team is placed in group A and will fight against host Telangana, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Manipur, and Services.
The first match between J&K and West Bengal is scheduled for December 14 at Deccan Arena Artificial Turf Stadium Hyderabad, Telangana.
“J&K Sports Council provides all the facilities to the team, including boarding and lodging, transportation, refreshment, apparel, and access to the sports facilities,” he said.
“J&K is heading towards scripting a new chapter in the history of football,” he said.
However, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also met the team here at Raj Bhawan on November 25 and congratulated the players and the coaching staff for their remarkable performances during the group stage.
J&K team competed in Group-A alongside Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Punjab and delivered commanding performances while remaining unbeaten in the group stage.
Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma also congratulated the team on their brilliant performance and praised both the athletes and technical staff.
