Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 8 (Reporter) A petition questioning the naming of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra is likely to be heard by the Supreme Court on Friday, a petitioner said on Thursday.
Mushtaq Ahmed of the Maharashtra Anti-Name Change Action Committee said a confusion has been created by the publication of news spreading rumours that the petition in Aurangabad name-change matter has been rejected.
He also demanded from the Maharashtra government that an impartial inquiry into the Vishalgad violence should be conducted under the chairmanship of a retired judge.
Ahmed said in the upcoming Assembly elections the Maha Vikas Aghadi should give tickets to at least 36 Muslim candidates.
