Hyderabad, Feb 7 (Reporter) G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister and Telangana BJP President, stated that the extensive development project at Secunderabad Railway Station, backed by a substantial investment of Rs 715 crores from the Central Government, is making significant progress.
After inspecting the ongoing works at Secunderabad Railway Station on Wednesday, accompanied by South Central Railways (SCR) General Manager Anil Kumar Jain, Reddy expressed satisfaction with the pace of development.
He emphasised that the reconstruction, valued at approximately Rs 700 crore, is designed to emulate an airport, featuring various state-of-the-art facilities.
Despite the challenges of construction in a confined space, Reddy assured that the development works at the railway station are proceeding rapidly without causing disruptions to train services or passengers.
He anticipates that by the end of 2025, the Secunderabad Railway Station will undergo a transformative change, resembling an airport.
The ongoing construction includes the installation of 26 lifts, 38 escalators, and retail shops within the railway station premises. Efforts are underway to seamlessly connect metro and bus stations for enhanced passenger convenience.
Reddy commended Prime Minister Modi's commitment to development and asserted that promises made by him are diligently fulfilled. The completion of various railway projects in Telangana is a testament to the dedicated efforts being put forth.
The Nampally railway station is undergoing a Rs 350 crore modernisation project, inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Modi. Modernisation works are also underway at the Kazipet Railway Station, while the GhatKesar-Yadadri MMTS line is expected to be completed soon.
The inauguration of the Cherlapally New Terminal is imminent, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon.
To cater to devotees visiting Lord Komuravelli Mallanna, a new railway station will be constructed at Komuravelli, with the foundation stone-laying ceremony scheduled for February.
Additionally, Vande Bharat trains originating from Secunderabad have been running at full occupancy, prompting a request for two more trains from the Union Railway Minister, Reddy added...////...
