Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Reporter) Telangana Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka emphasised the need to ensure a dignified life for rural people while addressing a review meeting with District Panchayat Officers (DPOs) at the Mission Bhagiratha Office in Erramanjil here on Sunday.
"Our country lives in villages, and it is the responsibility of DPOs to ensure the progress and development of these areas," Minister Seethakka stated.
She urged officers to adopt special measures for maintaining a healthy environment in villages and to design plans tailored to local conditions.
Congratulating the DPOs for their efforts despite the absence of local representatives, the minister said, "You have the privilege of serving rural people, and this responsibility should be carried out with humanity and dedication. Correct your mistakes, increase the pace of your duties, and deliver results that make an impact."
Minister Seethakka assured the officers of her support in addressing their challenges but warned against complacency. She referenced her department's success in resolving long-pending compassionate appointment files since 2017, promising similar attention to their concerns.
The minister advised maintaining strong working relationships with staff and ensuring accountability. "I consider my department as my family and regard it as a privilege to serve as the Minister of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development. You should also treat this department as a family and leave your mark on its progress," she added.
She urged DPOs to increase field visits and focus on cleanliness, greenery, and rural work fairs, which have already gained recognition from the Chief Minister.
Minister Seethakka highlighted the need to accelerate the summer action plan, specifically addressing rural water supply issues. "Pay special attention to ensure there are no drinking water shortages during summer. Make people aware of the quality of the water we supply and instill confidence in them," she instructed.
She also announced that sanitation and multipurpose workers' salaries would now be disbursed directly from the Commissioner's Office within five days of each month, ensuring timely payments.
The minister reaffirmed her commitment to monthly review meetings to track progress and ensure accountability. She encouraged all officers to work in coordination with the rural water supply officials and sanitation workers to make villages ideal and set benchmarks for development.
