Mumbai, Sep 16 (Reporter) Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde Group) MLA Sanjay Gaikwad kicked up a political storm on Monday by offering a bounty of Rs 11 lakh to chop off the tongue of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for his alleged anti-reservation remarks. The Congress demanded immediate filing of a police case against Gaikwad. Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar said that the state government should file a case against the Sena MLA for his hate speech. He said that the Chief Minister and the Home Minister cannot remain bystanders when ruling party MLAs announce bounties for harming Leaders of Opposition in Lok Sabha. Sparking a controversy, Gaikwad had said that a reward of Rs 11 lakh had been announced for cutting off Rahul Gandhi's tongue for his statement on the issue of reservation made during his recent US visit. Gaikwad also described Gandhi’s statement as a big lie.
