Senior Congress leader takes dig at Modi

Mumbai, May 13 (Reporter) Congress in-charge of Maharashtra, Ramesh Chennithala on Monday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking will he retire from politics when he turns 75 years of age as per rule of BJP. Addressing a press conference in party head office here, he said that BJP has excluded those above 75 years of age from active politics. Senior BJP leaders like L K Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi, who strengthened the party organisation, were also sidelined from politics on ground of their age, he recalled. "Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi also retire from politics after 75 years and make Amit Shah the prime minister?" the Congress in-charge said and demanded that BJP should clarify its position on this issue. Attacking Modi, he accused him of trying to create a divide on basis of religion by mentioning Hindu-Muslim, Pakistan in his election speeches. It does not suit the Prime Minister of the country to speak the language of religious division, he noted and targeted Modi for not talking about what his government has done in last 10 years. "People are fed up with the Modi government and there is an anti-BJP wave all over the country," Chennithala said and expressed that BJP would lose in this Lok Sabha elections and the INDIA bloc will form next government at the Centre. For final phase of the Lok Sabha campaign, INDIA bloc leaders will hold a public meeting on May 17 in Mumbai, he said and added that INDIA bloc leaders will hold a joint press conference on May 18...////...
