Mumbai, Mar 6 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Thursday added another gain of 609.86 pts at 74,340.09 on a strong Asian Market anticipating that Trump may reverse some tariff measures. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 207.40 pts at 22,544.70. Though oscillation was seen during the day, the equity market remained strong for another day. The Sensex opened firm at 74,308.30, up 578 pts. It spurted 660 pts at 74,390.80 days high, before closing at 73,340.09, advancing 609.86 pts from its previous close. The Nifty registered a day high at 22,556.45 and low at 22,245.85 pts. The stocks that climbed were Energy by 2.78 pc, Metal by 2.64 pc, Oil and Gas by 2.36 pc, and Commodities by 1.65 pc. The Mid-cap rose by 0.65 pc and the Small cap by 1.65 pc. In 30 scrips, 24 advanced, 5 declined while one remained unchanged. The gainers were Asian Paints by 4.70 pc to Rs 2267.10, NTPC by 3.41 pc to Rs 337.75, Reliance Industries by 2.96 pc to Rs 1210.55 and Tata Steel by 2.87 pc to Rs 150.35. The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.31 pc to Rs 1503.60, Kotak Bank by 0.90 pc to Rs 1921.60, Zomato by 0.62 pc to Rs 225.40 and Tata Motors by 0.19 pc to Rs 639.75.
