Mumbai, Jan 30 (Reporter) Extending rally for the third straight session the BSE Sensex edged up 226.85 pts to close at 76,759.81 on strong global cues. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 86.40 pts at 23,249.50. The Sensex opened at 76,598.84, up 61 pts. It remained in green throughout the session, as it spurted 430 pts at 76,962.88 days high, before closing at 76,759.81, advancing 226.85 pts from its previous close. The Nifty registered days high and low at 23,322.05 and 23,139.20 pts respectively. The stocks that shone were Oil and Gas by 1.59 pc, Energy by 1.52 pc, Realty by 1.49 pc, and Health care by 1.14 pc. The Mid cap fell by 0.04 pc while the Small-cap moved up by 0.2 pc. In 31 scrips, 18 advanced while 13 declined. The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 2.78 pc to Rs 1644, Powergrid by 2.73 pc to Rs 295.65, Bajaj Finance by 2.36 pc to Rs 7940.85, and Nestle India Ltd by 2.15 pc to Rs 2227.95. The losers were Tata Motors by 7 pc to Rs 699.80, ITC Hotel by 4.98 pc to Rs 169.70, Bajaj Finserv by 2.12 pc to Rs 1751.50, and Adani Ports by 1.97 pc to Rs 1075.60...////...
