Shahjahanpur (UP), Apr 16 (Reporter) A septuagenarian hanged himself and committed suicide after killing his 30-year-old daughter-in-law allegedly over minor dispute in Kant area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a senior police officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi said that Sumitra, a resident of Hathipur Kuria village, had a dispute with her father-in-law Rajpal (70) over some issue. "On Wednesday morning in rage of anger Rajpal killed Sumitra by hitting her with an axe," he said.
He said that before the police arrived, the accused Rajpal fled from the spot. "A few hours later, the body of the accused Rajpal was found hanging from a rope on a mango tree in the village orchard," he said.
The SP said that according to the villagers, the accused was addicted to alcohol and probably had an altercation with the deceased over this, due to which he killed her by hitting her with an axe kept in the house.
He said that the deceased's husband is a truck driver and is often out of station in connection with his work...////...
