Seven of family suffocate to death in major fire

Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Apr 3 (Reporter) Seven members of a family died due to suffocation after a major fire broke out in the Cantonment area of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in the early hours of Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Hamida Begam Abdul Aziz (50), Shaikh Sohel Abdul Aziz (35), Reshma Shaikh Sohel Shaikh (22), Wasim Shaikh Abdul Aziz (30), Tanvir Wasim Shaikh (23), Azim Wasim Shaikh (3), and Pari Wasim Shaikh (2). There were a total of 16 people staying in the building. Of them, all the dead persons were staying on the second floor of the building, while seven others were staying on the first floor and two on the third floor. City Police Commissioner Manoj Lohiya, along with top-ranking police officials, visited the spot. Meanwhile, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar AIMIM MP and Lok Sabha candidate Imtiaz Jaleel visited the spot and hospital where the dead bodies were kept for postmortem. He said that the incident was very unfortunate and that those who are responsible for it will not be spared.
