Satara, Mar 9 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sarturday called for developing nature spots hidden in Sahyadri mountain range.
While inaugurating the Koyana Water Tourism project of Maharashtra State Tourism Development Corporation at Munavale in Jawali tehsil of the district on Koyana reservoir shore, he said that with this water tourism project, local youths will get employment and they will not have to go outside for it.
In a taunt to Opposition for criticising the government over migration of many industrial projects to other states, the Chief Minister asserted that Maharashtra is an industry-friendly state and said that if industrial projects had run away to other states, then employment for five crore people would not have been created in the state.
He said that this project is first water sports project in a dam in the country and for this, he has repealed a law on backwaters of Koyana dam so that it can be developed as a tourist attraction and will be pollution free, he noted.
More development opportunities in the Konkan region could be created once a new bridge from Aapati to Tapola and a new road in Raghuveer Ghat section are completed, as a result, travel distance in Konkan would reduce by six to seven hours, he said and added that such opportunities should be used properly.
On this occasion, Shinde along with others took a boat ride from Dare to Munavale...////...
