Bengaluru, April 19 (Reporter) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has accused the BJP of threatening the state government and misleading voters about the possibility of imposing Governor's rule due to alleged deteriorating law and order.
Addressing the media here on Friday, Shivakumar questioned the intentions of the Leader of the Opposition, R Ashoka, alleging that the BJP is planning a drama to impose Governor's rule. "No matter how they project it, this can't be done here," he firmly stated.
The BJP has been critical of the Congress government, claiming a series of criminal incidents reported across the state in the last 48 hours as evidence of the worsening law and order situation.
Defending the Congress-led government's record on law and order, the Deputy CM emphasised that Karnataka has the best law and order in the country.
In response, the Karnataka BJP criticised the state government for the alleged deterioration in law and order, accusing the Congress government of pursuing appeasement politics at the expense of public safety. "The objective of governance is autocracy. The law and order have disappeared in the state. It has become the guiding principle of the Congress government," the BJP stated.
The BJP also targeted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over a recent tragic incident at BVB College in Hubballi, where a person named Fayaz allegedly stabbed Neha Hiremath to death. "You must answer for how many more Hindu lives you want to sacrifice for appeasement politics?" the BJP demanded.
