Bengaluru, Aug 17 (Reporter) In a decisive display of solidarity, the Congress party, spearheaded by Karnataka President DK Shivakumar, has rallied unwaveringly behind Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, rejecting any suggestions of his resignation over the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam involving his family members. Addressing the media on Saturday, Shivakumar, also the Deputy Chief Minister, emphasized the party’s resolute support for Siddaramaiah, dismissing the accusations as politically motivated and baseless. “There is no question of resignation,” Shivakumar stated firmly. In response to the legal and political challenges, the Congress party has pledged to mount a robust defence. “We are committed to upholding the democratic principles enshrined in our Constitution,” Shivakumar affirmed. “The notices and actions taken against Siddaramaiah contradict constitutional norms and legal standards. We are confident that justice will prevail.” The Congress party’s allies within the INDI alliance also share a unified stance, dismissing attempts to frame the situation as a BJP-driven agenda. “Our focus remains on effective governance and serving the people of Karnataka,” the Deputy CM said. “Siddaramaiah will continue as Chief Minister, and together, we will work to meet the expectations of our constituents,” he added.
