Belagavi, Dec 26 (Reporter) Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Sachin Pilot set the tone for the party's future during a historic Working Committee (CWC) meeting here on Thursday, commemorating the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi presiding over the INC session in 1924. Shivakumar, speaking at the event, stressed Congress party's longstanding role in uniting the country and serving all sections of society, regardless of political power. "Congress has always prioritised the welfare of every citizen, fostering inclusivity and social justice in all its actions," he remarked. He emphasised that the party's legacy is deeply rooted in its commitment to nation-building, even in times of adversity. The venue, which holds historical significance, has been renamed Mahatma Gandhi Navanagara to honour the occasion. The discussions also focused on solidifying the INDIA alliance, with Congress leadership outlining strategies to strengthen the alliance and counter political opponents in the months ahead.
