Siddaramaiah moves HC against prosecution sanction in MUDA case

Bengaluru, Oct 24 (Reporter) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday moved the Karnataka High Court, challenging the single judge's order that upheld Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot’s sanction for his prosecution in connection with the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The appeal, filed on October 23, seeks to overturn the order passed by Justice M Nagaprasanna on September 24. Siddaramaiah's petition names the Governor's office and complainants TJ Abraham, Snehamayi Krishna, and SP Pradeep Kumar as respondents. Though the High Court Registry has numbered the appeal, a hearing date is yet to be scheduled. The case stems from allegations surrounding the allotment of MUDA sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi. Last month, Justice Nagaprasanna dismissed Siddaramaiah's plea challenging the Governor's sanction to prosecute him. The sanction was granted following applications by the three complainants, who accused Siddaramaiah of corruption related to the land allocation.
