Mumbai, Nov 11 (Reporter) Around a month after NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Bandra, the Mumbai Crime Branch, in a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh STF, arrested the prime accused and four others from Bahraich on Monday. All three were produced in court, which remanded them to police custody till November 19. Prime accused Shiv Kumar Gautam, alias Shiva, was allegedly among the three shooters who fired three rounds at the former Maharashtra minister on October 12. Shiva was planning to flee to Nepal. Beside Shiv Kumar, four others—Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhileshendra Pratap Singh - were arrested from Bahraich in UP. and remanded to police custody for allegedly assisting in Shiva Kumar's escape and providing him with shelter as well as helping him in his attempt to flee to Nepal. Shiva Kumar, who had been absconding since October 12, is said to hold crucial information about the conspiracy surrounding Baba Siddiqui's murder. While seeking police custody, police told the court that the accused persons had actively participated in the crime. According to the cops, Shiv Kumar is the prime accused in the case.
