Sitharaman attends credit outreach program at Itanagar,distributes Rs 14.41 cr worth loans

Itanagar, Oct 1 (Reporter) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended a Credit Outreach Programme here on Tuesday. She distributed loans worth Rs 14.41 crore to the beneficiaries from both Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and others. The Credit Outreach Programme is an initiative by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance under which banks are asked to reach out to every district of the country to provide loans to eligible individuals. During the event, the Union Finance Minister handed over the sanction letters from banks to 160 beneficiaries under various Central Government schemes such as PM SVANidhi, Stand-up India, Kisan Credit Card, PM MUDRA, NRLM-SHG, PM Surya Ghar, PMEGP, etc. On the sidelines of the event, Sitharaman also flagged off a mobile ATM van and a mobile medical unit for conducting medical camps in rural areas of Arunachal Pradesh. She also handed over an ambulance van and one hearse van to the office of the DGP, Police Headquarter at Itanagar under corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity of SBI. The Finance Minister also handed over bicycles to 50 girl students under the CSR initiative of the SBI, bringing smiles on the faces of the young girls.
