Vijayawada, June 14 (Reporter) In a ghastly road accident, six people were killed when the mini-truck in which they were traveling collided with a lorry at Sitanapalli village in Krutivennu mandal in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. Police said that the mini-truck was going toward Bantumilli while the container truck was going towards Bhimavaram from Puducherry. The accident took place when the mini-truck driver was trying to overtake another vehicle. Police identified the deceased as Gandi Dharma Vara Prasad (27), Pesingu Kanaka Raju (34), Chinta Lova Raju (32), Magapu Soma Raju ( 30) Revu Nagabhusanam (26), and Ayyappan (42). The drivers of both vehicles were among the dead. Five died on the spot while one succumbed to injuries in hospital. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH in Machilipatnam for postmortem. Minister Kollu Ravindra expressed shock over the accident and directed the officials to take steps to provide needed help to the bereaved families.
