Snehamayi Krishna files new FIR against CM after ED findings

Bengaluru, Dec 12 (Reporter) In a fresh twist to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), complainant Snehamayi Krishna has filed a petition with the Karnataka Lokayukta, calling for the registration of a new First Information Report (FIR) against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others involved. The petition comes in the wake of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) alleged findings that 1,095 MUDA sites were "fraudulently" allotted through benami transactions, with influential individuals and real estate developers hiding behind dummy names to secure land intended for original landowners. Krishna’s petition claims that the land allotment process was "manipulated to benefit powerful political and business figures". The ED’s findings have linked high-profile beneficiaries to the scandal, including allegations that Siddaramaiah’s wife received a MUDA site through the influence of the Chief Minister’s aide, SG Dinesh Kumar. The agency’s report claims that these land allotments were disguised as legitimate compensation deals but ultimately served the interests of those with political clout and financial power. Krishna has also pointed to a Supreme Court ruling in the Vijay Madan Lal Choudhary vs Union of India case, which allows for new cases to be filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on fresh evidence. In addition to requesting a new FIR, she has asked for the case to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), citing concerns about the impartiality of the state authorities...////...
