Amritsar, Aug 11 (Reporter) The Indian hockey team, which recently secured a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, made a significant spiritual pilgrimage on Sunday, visiting Sachkhand Harmandir Sahib to express their gratitude. The players, including team captain Harmanpreet Singh, were warmly welcomed at the Golden Temple. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami hosted the ceremony at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib, where he honored the team with a gold model of the Golden Temple, religious books, and syrup. Advocate Dhami praised the achievements of the players from Punjab, noting their historical significance in Indian hockey. “The participation of Punjab players in the national team has always led to notable accomplishments,” he said. “Winning the bronze medal in Paris is a remarkable achievement, and I congratulate the players for their success.” He also encouraged the youth to follow in the footsteps of these accomplished athletes, highlighting the Shiromani Committee’s commitment to supporting players who bring pride to Punjab and the Sikh community. Advocate Dhami specifically mentioned Jarmanpreet Singh, a Sikh player, as an example of maintaining a strong Sikh identity while excelling in sports. Addressing the media, Captain Harmanpreet Singh expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is an honor to visit Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib with my teammates.
