Stalin announces slew of events to mark 75th anniv of Indian Constitution

Chennai, Nov 24 (Reporter) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday announced a slew of events to mark the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution, including reading its Preamble in all government offices, schools and colleges, on November 26. The Constitution of India came to effect on November 26, 1949 and this year marked its 75th anniversary. It was designed and drafted by DR B R Ambedkar, who was hailed as the architect of the Indian Constitution--a noble creation--that encompassed the democratic principles to take the country forward on the path of prosperity. Passing orders this regard, Mr Stalin said as part of the grand celebrations, the Preamble of the Constitution will be read out in all government offices, schools, and colleges across the state on November 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. He said the reading of the Preamble will take place in all departments of the Secretariat, departmental headquarters, High Court, District Collectorates, other government offices and PSUs. Along with the Preamble reading, the government also announced holding oratorical competitions, seminars and quiz programs on the basic principles of the Constitution and Constitutional norms in schools and colleges to promote awareness and its understanding.
