Chennai, Mar 31 (Reporter) Strongly condemning the arrest of AAP Leader and his Delhi
Counterpart Arvind Kejriwal and terming it as 'unlawful', Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
and DMK President M.K.Stalin on Sunday said an undeclared emergency is prevailing
in India and called for defeating the fascist BJP in the coming Lok Sabha polls to form
a federal INDIA.
Mr Stalin's address was read out by DMK MP Trichy N.Siva at the protest demonstration
organised by the INDIA Alliance at Ram Lila Maidan in New Delhi to condemn the arrest
of Mr Kejriwal.
Conveying his strongest condemnation, both personally and on behalf of the DMK, for
the unlawful arrest of Mr Kejriwal, he said the BJP high command has been committing
errors in desperation, as a formidable alliance against the BJP is formed by the
opposition parties.
"The very term "INDIA" became bitter for them after we formed our alliance. The BJP high
command views the leaders of INDIA as enemies of our country, treating non-BJP state
governments atrociously" he charged.
They have engaged in cheap tactics such as toppling democratically elected governments
and breaking alliances against them. Subsequently, they unleash investigating agencies like
the CBI, IT, and ED to intimidate us. Those who succumb to fear join the BJP, and all actions
against them are halted, even the cases against them are withdrawn, he noted.
"However, if someone dares to stand up against their intimidation, they are arrested and
imprisoned. This sounds like an undeclared emergency in India", Mr Stalin said.
The DMK Chief said Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was arrested first. Now,
Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has also been arrested. They are important leaders
of our INDIA bloc. However, these arrests cannot dislodge the INDIA bloc. Instead, they
only strengthen our resolve.
"When the going gets tough, the tough get going. We are witnessing the same in all states",
he asserted...////...
