Chennai, Sep 10 (Reporter) The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday inked three more pacts with
leading US firms committing an investment of over Rs 2,500 crore and creating more than
5,000 jobs in the State.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin, who is on an official
visit to US to attract investments to the State to achieve the goal of making TN a USD one
trillion dollar economy by 2030.
The government signed MoUs with Jabil, a global leader in EMS committing an investment
of Rs 2,000 crores at Tiruchirapalli that would create 5000 jobs and create a new cluster for Electronics manufacturing.
The other two pacts were signed with Rockwell Automation for expanding its manufacturing
facility with a Rs 666 crore investment in Kanchipuram, adding 365 jobs and with Autodesk
to boost MSMEs and Startups to strengthen the overall industrial ecosystem.
In a social media post, Mr Stalin said "Key investments secured for Tamil Nadu’s industrial
progress!"
"A significant investment of Rs 2000 crores at Tiruchirapalli by Jabil, a global leader in EMS.
This will create 5000 jobs and create a new cluster for electronics manufacturing", he said.
"Rockwell Automation expanding its manufacturing with a Rs 666 crore investment in
Kanchipuram, adding 365 jobs", he said, adding "MoU with Autodesk to skill youth and
boost MSMEs and startups, strengthening our overall industrial ecosystem".
Mr Stalin started his US visit at San Francisco, where eight MoUs were signed
and followed it up with his present tour of Chicago where MoUs were being signed
on a daily basis, apart from meeting and interacting with the Tamil diaspora...////...
