Chennai, Dec 16 (Reporter) Welcoming the talks between visiting Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the concerns of Tamil fishermen, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister urged Mr Dissanayake to release the fishermen detained by the Lankan Navy and their boats. In a post on X, he said such a gesture will infuse confidence in the deliberations and mark a constructive step towards fostering stronger ties and a harmonious future between the two nations. "It is encouraging that the Hon’ble President of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake is engaging in discussions with our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the concerns of Tamil fishermen in a humanitarian and peaceful manner, emphasising the need to avoid of conflict."
