Kolkata, Nov 26 (Reporter) Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar has urged Minister of External Affairs (Foreign) Dr S Jaishankar to take a serious note regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu, a Sanatani Hindu leader of Bangladesh and a monk of the ISKCON temple by the Dhaka Police ( Bangladesh). " Chinmoy Prabhu, also known as Sri Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu, a Sanatani Hindu leader of Bangladesh, a monk of the ISKCON temple, and the voice of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, has been arrested by Dhaka police for holding a peaceful protest on Monday," Majumdar, who is also the President of BJP's West Bengal unit, said on his X handle. " As per some media reports, Monk Chinmoy Prabhu was picked up from Dhaka Airport by Dhaka Police on Monday afternoon and he has been taken to the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police," Majumdar, who is the second time MP from Balurghat ( North Bengal), said. He also condemned the " unjust arrest of the honorable Chinmoy Prabhu, who has been tirelessly working for the rights of the Sanatani Hindu community in Bangladesh." He urged the External Affairs minister, Dr S Jaishankar to kindly take a serious note of the matter and take urgent steps. Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikari also urged Dr S Jaishankar to take note of the matter and take urgent steps. " The Bangladeshi Sanatani Community fear that Md Yunus's 'Radical' Regime may stoop to any level, even eliminate 'perceived threats' to its authority," Adhikari said on his X handle ( former Twitter). " Renowned firebrand Hindu Leader; Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu has been abducted by the Detective Branch at Dhaka Airport in Bangladesh. He is leading the fight for the survival & dignity of the Hindu Minorities of Bangladesh," Bengal's former minister Adhikari said. He claimed the Bangladesh Government filed a case of treason against him, the ISKCON Swamiji.
