Mumbai, Jan 20 (Reporter) Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday directed to keep all government systems ready for the survey to be started on January 23 through the State Backward Classes Commission to check the social, economic, and educational backwardness of the Maratha community and to conduct an accurate and timely survey.
He also instructed people to go to villages, give information on notice boards, and let people know about this survey.
Shinde was talking to all the Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, and Municipal Commissioners of the state through the television system in a meeting on the Maratha reservation from Varsha residence.
Retired Judges Dilip Bhosle, Maroti Gaikwad, and Sandeep Shinde, Revenue Additional Chief Secretary Rajagopal Deora, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Urban Development Principal Secretary Dr. KH Govindaraj, Other Backward Division Secretary Anshu Sinha, and Law and Justice Secretary Kalote were present.
Initially, General Administration Department Secretary Sumant Bhange informed us about the decisions taken so far regarding the Maratha reservation.
The survey work of the Backward Classes Commission will be conducted from January 23 to January 31, and the Maratha and non-Maratha open categories will be surveyed in such a way that approximately two and a half crore families in the state will be surveyed. Yakami Gokhale Institute and IIPS, reputed institutes, will help with this work.
The Chief Minister appealed that the state government is determined to get a lasting reservation for the Maratha community and fits within the framework of the law, and the administration should also join forces in this very important work with a social spirit.
Giving instructions to the administration, he said that this survey is very important and should be done in all three shifts. Give notice about this survey from village to village, give instructions on gram panchayat boards, and also inform people about it through various means.
'The surveyor should get information from every household so that the survey will be complete and accurate. Tehsildar and all concerned have to report their work daily during the survey period, ' added Shinde.
On this occasion, Ajit Ranade of the Gokhale Institute gave information about the survey. He said that more than half a lakh enumerators, like teachers, gram sevak, anganwadi workers, and talathi, will complete this work in eight days. Training has started today in 36 districts, 27 municipalities, and 7 cantonment areas.
In this regard, Shinde said that the training of the enumerators as well as the officers should be done very properly, and also keep a record of all the training sessions and meetings in your report.
Since the committee of retired judge Sandeep Shinde started its work, 1.47 lakh Kunbi registration certificates have been distributed to the concerned. In Marathwada alone, 32,000 records have been found, and 18,600 Kunbi certificates have been issued.
