Suvendu seeks Guv's intervention for NIA probe into 'attack' on Ram Navami processions in Bengal

Kolkata, Apr 19 (Reporter) Opposition leader in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has sought the intervention of Governor CV Ananda Bose, seeking an NIA probe into the alleged 'attacks' on the Ram Navami processions on April 17 in the state. "The Ram Navami Processions were disrupted and attacked at various places across the State of West Bengal due to the CM's provocative speech, which successfully incited miscreants, who were assured that the Law Enforcement Agency won't act against them as their hands have been tied due to the CM's public stance on Ram Navami, a day that, according to her, "is a day for rioting, the Nandigram legislator posted on his X handle. He said he has written a letter to the governor apprising him of the attacks on the processions. "I have written a letter to the Hon'ble Governor, Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, apprising him regarding the attacks on the processions taken out on the occasion of Ram Navami on April 17, 2024, and requesting that he immediately intervene in order to control the failing law and order situation, as well as get the incidents investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA)," Adhikari said.
