Kolkata, Aug 30 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari on Friday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her clarification on the striking government junior doctors. Banerrjee on Thursday taking to X said she has detected a malicious disinformation campaign in some media which has been unleashed with reference to her speech she made during TMC's students wing foundation day on Wednesday and clarified that she has not uttered a single word against the medical students or their movements. "I totally support their movement. Their movement is genuine. I never threatened them, as some people are accusing me of doing. This allegation is completely false," she maintained. Countering the CM's clarification, Adhikari said there was no malicious disinformation campaign against her as the media " calling spade a spade." "Don't mince your words. There's no malicious disinformation campaign against you. The media is calling spade a spade," the BJP leader said on his X handle. "You have threatened the agitating Medical Students & Junior Doctors and warned them about taking action against them if they continue their agitation. You even tried to scare them of the dire consequences including their career getting hampered if you lodge FIR against them," the Nandigram MLA said. "Moreover you have issued threats to create anarchy in Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, entire North Eastern India, UP and even creating unrest in Delhi for toppling an elected Govt," Adhikari said. The BJP leader said that every Bengali knows the meaning of the phrase ("phonsh kara") - hissing sound made by a snake. "Don't try to wrap up the context by using the name of Thakur Shri Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. You used the term for threatening the Opposition and everyone else who are being critical of your Govt. You clearly meant that you are going to unleash the venomous snakes (unruly TMC thugs) and leave it upon them, how much venom they can spew." Adhikari said .
