SW Monsoon to enter eastern UP in next few days

Pune, June 21 (Reporter) The weather office has said conditions are favourable for its advance into some parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh during next three or four days. It's also favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, remaining parts of Maharashtra, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar. The Monsoon has already advanced into into remaining parts of Vidarbha, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, some more parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Jharkhand. Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Odisha; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Gangetic West Bengal and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. It was above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Telangana; at isolated places over Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka. Temperatures were appreciably below normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Arunachal Pradesh. Below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest parts of the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra, and Vidarbha. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Vidarbha. Squally weather with wind speed 35 to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph likely to prevail along & off Maharashtra and Konkan coasts during next 24 hours. Rainfall very likely at most places over Konkan and Goa and Vidarbha and at a few places over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during next 24 hours. On Thursday, the country's highest maximum temperature of 43.8°C was reported at Sirsa (Haryana). Isolated hailstorms were observed over Madhya Pradesh. Heat wave conditions prevailed in isolated pockets of south Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. The Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Rayalaseema. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, Saurashtra and Kutch, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
