Hyderabad, Jan 18 (Reporter) Several prominent individuals paid floral tributes to the founder and former Chief Minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on his 28th death anniversary at NTR Ghat here on Thursday. Paying his respects, popular actor Balakrishna, the son of the thespian-turned-politician NTR (as the late leader was popularly known), recalled his father's contributions in both the film industry and politics. He emphasized that NTR had etched a permanent place in the hearts of the people, asserting that NTR's legacy would endure as long as the Telugu people exist. Film actors Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (Jr NTR) and his brother Kalyan Ram also offered floral tributes to their grandfather at NTR Ghat in the early hours. To commemorate NTR's death anniversary, the state BC Cell will organise the Amara Jyothi Rally, starting from NTR's statue at Rasulpura to NTR Ghat at 0900 hours. Nandamuri Rama Krishna will be the chief guest, and State Vice President Ms Nandamuri Suhasini, along with members of the Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau - Bakkani Narasimhulu and Arvind Kumar Goud, among others, are expected to participate in the program, according to party sources.
